Neerja Bhanot’s Colleague Says ‘Undeserved Praise’ Has Been Given To Her

You must have seen Neerja, the biopic that encapsulates the life of braveheart Neerja Bhanot, the airhostess of Pan Am flight 73, who lost her life on September 5, 1986, while trying to save hundreds of lives in a hijacked aircraft.



During the hijack, she showed great courage and presence of mind, and if in short someone has to describe her then: she was a real life hero and a lady with nerves of steel.


Neerja, who was a die-hard Rajesh Khanna fan used to say:


While many have moved to tears while watching Neerja and praised the cast and crew for making a film like Neerja, the fellow crew members of the late airhostess feel that the biopic is ‘more fictional than real.’

Nupoor Abrol, who was present on the flight when the hijack happened, has now hit back at the makers for wrong portrayal of the entire incident.

Certainly, Nupoor’s response would come as a shock to many.

Neerja Bhanot was the chief purser of the Pan Am Flight 73, which was hijacked in Karachi on September 5, 1986. She saved 359 lives on board. She was the youngest person to receive the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.
