Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently sent a legal notice to popular film magazine Filmfare, threatening to sue them for defamation unless they apologize.

Filmfare on March 8 had published an article with a photograph of Nawazuddin and an ‘unknown woman’ and had thus portrayed that he was with his new wife and led many to conclude that he had separated from his wife Aaliya.

Accusing the magazine of defamation, Nawazuddin’s lawyers thus sent Filmfare editor a notice that either they apologize for the article and carry an article clarifying the matter within 7 days or get sued.

The notice stated that the article caused Nawazuddin “unwarranted and uncalled for mental torture, trauma and inconvenience”, as he was asked “ridiculous questions” about his marriage due to it.

While Filmfare is yet to respond in the matter, Nawazuddin’s wife has put the questions about their marriage to rest by posting a heart-warming message on her social media account.

The couple celebrated their 7th marriage anniversary on Friday, March 17.
