Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ Runs Into Legal Trouble Before Its Release

First we got the news that Hrithik Roshan would be appearing nude in the opening scene of Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ The actor worked for 3 months with UK-based trainer Joshua Kyle Baker to get in shape for the role.

Fans of the actor worried that the Censor Board might throw a fit and that they wouldn’t get to admire their star’s bare ass (hopefully the nudity isn’t full frontal. I might have to burn my eyes if I see Roshan nude).

However, the film has run into other trouble before the Censor Board got a say in anything. The film is all set to release on 12 August, 2016, but the filmmakers are being sued for stealing the script.

Akashaditya Lama, a writer-director, claims that the script is his. According to him, he had discussed his story with Gowariker back in 2002. At that time, Lama attests, Gowariker said that he was not interested in making a period film.

In 2010, Lama heard that Gowariker was working on a script based on the Indus Valley civilization. He said he mailed the director, asking Gowariker why he wasn’t informed. Since Gowariker didn’t reply, Lama approached the Bombay High Court.

The hearing is set for 26 July, 2016.
