So who says Indians can’t turn normal looking SUVs into beasts? A look at these cars, below, is more than enough proof that Indians, if they want to, can even design the meanest machines.
1. Mahindra Thar 6X6.
Inspired from Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6, Punjab-based SD Offroaders Nakodar has put together
Mahindra Thar 6X6. The bodyshell is based on the Thar and is basically an extended version of the original body, with an extra door on each side.
The longer wheel base allows more interior space for the passengers. technically it won’t feel like you are driving a rugged monster of a car but a gentle sedan.
2. Kishan Lohiya’s Mahindra Scorpio.
Hyderabad-based Kishan Lohiya
customized his Scorpio to produce a stunning piece of car art. This Scorpio has a heavy front headlamp making it look stealthier.
With 36 inch tyres mounted on 16 inch rims, the SUV gets taller.
The modified body makes it look like pick-up truck but a pick-up truck that can take everyone on the road head on.
3. Mahindra XUV500 with Tractor Wheels.
Zubair Abdullah of Hot Zone Racing Technology, Bangalore, modified an XUV500 to make it look like a machine from one of those movies with a dystopian setting. Take a look at this beast and you’ll know what we are talking about.
If you have taken particular note of the tyres, let us inform you that they are of a tractor’s.
Oh, and it has a name, too! It is called Intrepid.
4. Force Motors’ RFC Challenge Gurkha.
The Gurkhas modified the turbo diesel engine which they borrowed from the Force One that generates 140 Bhp-320 Nm.
Electronic differential lock, knobblies, and longer struts are among the other modifications. All these make Gurkha a force to reckon with off road. Like this…
5. Sumeer Tandon’s Monster Gypsy.
Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has been suitably modified by Sumeer Tandon to make it look like a street monster. It doesn’t matter how much power this car has, because this car is a rough neck among cars.
Locking front and rear differentials, a beefed up clutch, a power steering, modified leaf spring suspension, larger axles and crawler gears are other modifications done to make it a master off roads.
6. Monstharr Mahindra Thar.
Mahindra Thar has been customized by Pune based GS Customs into Monstharr. With wide tractor tyres and grey and orange paint on a new body Monstharr is born out of monster. What I particularly like about this is that Autobots vector graphic logo. The cars are as insane in looks and drive as insane could be. And look at the modifications! Ah, big boys!
