In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old boy in Madhya Pradesh was hanged upside down and brutally caned allegedly by his uncle, reports NDTV.
The incident took place in Raisim district. The boy, who was hanged from a tree, was seen pleading and crying in a video.
Though there were people standing nearby, no one came to help him. The police have detained Brijesh Yadav, the uncle, who was apparently disciplining the boy for missing school.
However, no formal complaint has been filed in the case yet. This year in August, a class eight student in Andhra Pradesh, who was allegedly mercilessly beaten up by his teacher, died while undergoing treatment. He was allegedly beaten up by his teacher for not doing his homework. In 2010, a 13-year-old boy committed suicide after he was allegedly caned at his school in Kolkata. The practice has been banned by the Supreme Court in 2000 and was further ratified by The Right Of Children To Free And Compulsory Education Act in 2009.
