Taking strong steps against ragging in medical colleges, the Dental Council of India (DCI) has written to Union Health Ministry, recommending them names of 20 medical colleges for de-recognition.
These colleges are based all across the country and over the years several issue of students’ ragging have come forward from these colleges.
If the ministry follows DCI’s recommendation and de-recognise these colleges, it will be by far the strictest action that would been taken against the growing menace.

DCI’s recommendation comes at a time when many colleges across the country are starting new session.
In the past few years ragging of students in medical colleges has been on a rise, with a few cases even leading to student death.
