Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati on July 21 said that to the backward classes in India, she is like a Devi
(Goddess) and they are angry with what former BJP leader Dayashankar Singh said against her.
Demanding his arrest, Mayawati, added that BJP’s ban was not enough and her supporters would not be happy till he is arrested.
She then went on to thank her supporters for their “spontaneous protests” against Dayashankar Singh.

Earlier in the week, BJP had swiftly denounced
and expelled Dayashankar Singh, in what is seems like an effort to avoid political damage.
BSP members meanwhile lodged a case against Singh under charges of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Tribes, insulting the modesty of a woman and promoting enmity.
