A photograph of Manish Sisodia is doing the rounds of social media. The photo shows Delhi’s deputy chief minister in Finland enjoying an ice cream.
The problem is that vector-borne diseases Dengue and Chikungunya have gripped the national capital, and it is under these circumstances that the deputy CM is out of the city.
What has become even more embarrassing for the AAP government is the fact that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal too is out of the city.
But Sisodia said that he was not “holidaying” in Finland as alleged. He said that India needed to learn a “lot from their (Finland’s) education system, the best in the world”.
Sisodia accused a television anchor
and “his political bosses” for “spreading conspiracy” against his efforts to improve Delhi’s education system. Deaths from Dengue in the national capital rose to 18 on Thursday, even as the number of cases of the vector-borne disease crossed 1,100. Chikungunya has affected around 1700 people in Delhi.
