Did you enjoy the AIB Roast?
You won’t for long because if the Maharashtra govt. has its way, this message will appear on your screens:
It appears that the Fadnavis-led Maha govt. has too much time on its hands to launch an investigation into what it calls an offence caused by Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh.
Minister for Cultural Affairs Vinod Tawde said
The Indian EXPRESS
“We will register an FIR against them as they appear to have performed without any performance license. Such vulgarity is a crime and based on facts which will emerge, the government will file a case against them.”
An FIR has already been launched by Brahman Ekta Seva Sansth president Akhilesh Tiwari for hurting the sentiments of people.
As in every similar case, “people” and “sentiments” remain undefined.
Roasts are hugely popular in the West. And this guy finds his butt kicked by everyone, including himself:
AIB, a group of comic, organized the event, which is a first for India. Moreover, it was a charity event which raised Rs.40 lakh.
The group uploaded an edited version of the event on YouTube, which is age-restricted by them. It technically means you won’t be able to see it if you are not above 18.
The government, being the mai-baap, might roast the roast because it allegedly roasted the already roasted sentiments of a roasted section of the people who don’t understand roasts.
In other words, the government might ‘ban’ the roast because it allegedly ‘hurt’ the ‘fragile’ sentiments of a ‘prissy’ section of the people who don’t understand ‘comedies’.
