Madrid Pride Parade ‘High Heel Race’ Draws Colorful Contestants From All Over

There’s something about a well-heeled shoe that can make you look fabulous. Higher heels can give a shapely look to most legs. Add to that the confidence boost you get from slipping heels on and it’s no wonder that many of us start trying on our mothers’ heels while still young.

In Madrid, during the yearly Gay Pride Parade, there is a high heel race only for men. The heels can be stilettos, kitten heels, wedges, etc.



Some of the contestants tie their heels to their feet with sticky tape so they can run more eaily. The competition is fierce as men from all over the world come to participate in the event. Dressed in colorful costumes and high heels, the racer aure are a sight to behold.

The heels must be 4 inches (10 cm) high and all the shoes are measures before the race to ensure that it is all above board.
