10 Enlightening Lessons We Learnt From These Heart-Touching Movies Of 2015

Bollywood was reborn with novelty and subtlety in 2015 and we experienced some heartfelt direction, with riveting talent of the biggest superstars in this industry. Bollywood is ever-changing, and with every passing year, it is getting better.

This year started on a average note, with mediocre films like ‘Tevar’ and ‘Alone’, but as the year progressed, the equation changed with the freshness of ‘Dum laga ke Haisha’goodness of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ended with the ferocity of ‘Bajirao Mastani’

I am sure you would have watched all the movies below but it’s more important to appreciate the inspiration that they gifted us:

1. Dum Laga Ke Haisha

When it comes to true love, size doesn’t matter.

We see a lot of odd couples, falling in love and accepting each other’s weaknesses and imperfections. When you really love someone, you are not only tempted by their looks but also enticed by their beautiful souls.

2. Piku

Your family will always be a part of you; you can never escape them.

As time passes, your parents need you as much as you need them. This bond cannot be aged by time but instead needs to be redeveloped with maturity and understanding.

3. Tanu Weds Manu Returns

No matter how hard you try, you cannot run away from your true love.

You can change your mind, your location and your friends but love is an uncontrollable force. You can try to ignore it but someday, it attracts you back to the place where it all started.

4. Dil Dhadakne Do

Every heart beats differently, let it beat. Don’t judge it.

Every heart has its own beliefs. Let everyone do whatever they want to do with their life. Who are we to judge anyone? God has made everyone unique and, hence, we are destined to walk different paths.

5. Bajrangi Bhaijaan

We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone.

Humanity resides in everyone but selfishness ruins it. And so, our humane thoughts never transform into actions. Some people say that it’s a complete waste of time and money. Fine. But what about all that money you spend recklessly on alcohol, expensive clothes and junk food? These things just give you satisfaction, not happiness.

6. Drishyam

A person cannot live without his family. He can do anything for them and so, it doesn’t matter if the world calls him selfish or egocentric.

If a person tries to save his innocent family from the villainous jaws of police by adopting illegal ways, then he should not be misjudged, as his intentions are right and pure. Family is a bond that we want to protect and keep it safe.

7. Manjhi – The Mountain Man

Love is the most powerful force in the universe.

If love is your weakness, then you are the strongest person on the planet. Love is like a brick, you can build a house or sink a dead body. Love possesses its own madness, use it wisely to achieve the impossible.

8. Talvar

In India, it’s mostly justice delayed, justice denied.

Justice is a strange term in our Indian judiciary. With every passing day, our belief in our judiciary shrinks, whether it is Section 377 or the Nirbhaya case.

9. Bajirao Mastani

Love that is not accepted on earth is accepted by the gods.

The course of a eternal love story doesn’t end smoothly. Some love stories don’t deserve to end on earth, they are blessed to rule in heaven.

10. Tamasha

No matter how hard you try, you cannot run away from who you are.

All the layers of your personality are unique but sometimes, your insecurities overpower your individuality. You have got to realize that your ‘self’ was born with you and it cannot be detached. Ever.
