After having wowed audiences with stellar performances in movies like ‘Mr and Mrs Iyer’, ‘Page 3’, ‘Omkara’, and ‘Life in a… Metro’, Konkona Sensharma sort of retreated into the wings, except for a few smallish roles (in Hindi movies) here and there. Some of us wondered where she went, the rest of us kind of knew she’d resurface. These celebrity kids always do.
In what looks like a refreshing change, Konkona won’t be making a “comeback” like most heroines do. She seems to have chosen to follow in her mother’s footsteps and she’s coming back as a filmmaker. Her directorial debut, ‘A Death in the Gunj’, premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival this month.
