Veteran actor and Padma Bhushan awardee Anupam Kher has asked to throw out people like Yogi Adityanath and Sadhvi Prachi, who ‘speak nonsense’, from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and put them behind bars.
Yogi Adityanath and Sadhvi Prachi have courted controversies in the past for their inflammatory statements drawing sharp reactions from several quarters. Kher was speaking at the Telegraph National Debate on intolerance. He said:
“There are some people in the party (BJP) who speak nonsense, and ill-behave, whether it is Sadhvi or Yogi…they should be put behind bars, thrown out of the party.”
He added that you can’t play with the entire country and say that we have intolerance here.
Kher begins by taking on Justice Asok Kumar Ganguly, who was also the speaker in the debate and spoke before him. indianexpress
Slamming the Congress party and the people who talked about intolerance in the country, Kher said that the rival party speak the most of awful things.
He added that the word intolerance was being marketed against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi because the Congress party is yet to accept the defeat.
Kher took a dig at Congress leader Randeep Surjewala, who was also a participant in the debate. metrovaartha
Taking a jibe at Congress vice-president, the veteran actor said that if Rahul Gandhi became even one-tenth of what Prime Minister Narendra Modi was, he would vote for him.
Kher also lashed out at student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who he said was being projected as a hero, for being a participant at the event in which anti-India slogans were raised.
