A new video has emerged wherein Pakistani actors are talking about actions of Indian Army in Kashmir and urged people to take a re-look at the Kashmir issue from the human perspective.
It said more than 120 days of unrest in Jammu and Kashmir led to hundreds of Kashmiris getting killed.
The video shows the simmering discontent among the people of Kashmir for a long period of time. It also shows Kashmiris taking to streets against the security forces.
Then it shows the unrest and the cycle of violence following the killing of Burhan Wani, 22, the poster boy for Hizb ul-Mujahideen, the largest group in Kashmir’s constellation of separatist outfits.
Over 80 people are reported to have been killed and over 1,000 have been injured in clashes with the Indian armed forces that often involve running battles between heavily-armed riot police and young people throwing stones.
In one section, a Pakistani actor claims that around 4-5 Kashmiris are getting killed everyday in the Valley not by terrorists, non-state actors, or unknown assailants, or by poverty but by an organised Army of a democratic country.
“The Kashmir issue is not an India-Pakistan issue, it is a human issue. So, please rise above the biases of nationalities, whether you’re Indian or Pakistani and stand with Kashmir,” he said. It was followed by a number of Pakistani actors giving support to Kashmir issue.
