Woman Allegedly Dies In Ambulance Halted To Let Karnataka CM’s Convoy Pass

A woman allegedly died because the ambulance she was in was stopped to let Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s convoy pass. According to reports, the incident happened on June 25 at the Maalur flyover junction in Hoskote at around 9.00 pm.

A video that has now gone viral shows how a few men are pleading before the police officers to let the ambulance pass.

Even those who do not understand Kannada can hear the word “patient” being uttered twice. A man is then seen trying to remove the barricades. According to Deccan Chronicle, the man was the son of the woman in the ambulance.

Reports say that the ambulance was carrying the old woman to the hospital who apparently died when the CM’s convoy stopped traffic for a good 25 minutes.

Yet Inspector General of Police (Central Range) Seemant Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru Rural Amit Singh claimed that though an ambulance had indeed got stuck it was not carrying any patient.

They also claimed that the traffic was halted for only 2-3 minutes.

The video has brought Siddaramaiah the ire of netizens. All of them unanimously criticized the VIP culture.

It is worth noting here that the Congress leader was recently in the news for this:

And now Siddaramaiah is being criticized for his government’s decision to make school children read about his “achievements”.
