The teaser of ”Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” was out this morning and created ripples of excitement among fans, who eagerly watched the trailer. With a splendid star caste of Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai and Fawad Khan, it’s really hard to choose one favourite.
Further sparking the curiosity, Karan Johar revealed more about the women’s character in a recent interview with rediff.com. Apparently, Aishwarya plays a heartbroken poetess in the film.
They’re complicated, without saying too much. And they are immensely progressive characters. I know that Aishwarya has never, ever played a part like this. She plays a poet who isn’t a very good poet, and so she is aware that she isn’t as respected in her community of poets. This is partly because she is too beautiful to be taken seriously and because she isn’t a great poet. She comes from a situation of heartbreak herself.
Anushka comes from a dysfunctional family. Everyone has a broken hearted situation in some way. I have to say, though, that they are both incredibly strong and complex women characters, while being completely different in terms of character goals.
There’s no denying the fact that ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ resembles other Karan Johar’s movies from the past. What is different and catches our attention is the unusual star caste. It’s interesting to see Ranbir and Aishwarya share a romantic equation, on the big screen.
Can 28 October already come?
