Kangana’s been in the news a lot recently. For all the wrong reasons. The brouhaha about her alleged affair with that Roshan fella got seriously out of hand. What with legal notices being slapped this way and that. Hrithik even had the gall to say she’d been using his family name to climb the ladder to success. That’s the problem with star kids. Just because they needed to ride Daddy’s coattails to success, they think everyone else does, too!
Kangana’s third National Film Award, for her role as Datto in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, should come as a giant slap in Hrithik’s face. If there’s any justice in the world, that is!
When we saw her in ‘Gangster’, not many of us could’ve imagined Kangana would get where she’s at now. The woman has taken Bollywood by storm without any “mentor” guiding her through the treacherous slime that Bollywood is famous for.
She earned her first National Film Award for her role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’. She stopped people dead in their tracks when she strutted down the ramp, and then made hearts bleed as the drug-addled model whose world comes undone.
Her next triumph was ‘Queen’. One can hardly overstate the phenomenon the movie became. Kangana rewrote the book on what it means to be a Bollywood “heroine”. Which is why Rani from Rajouri will forever be one of the best characters Kangana ever played.
With this win it’s become obvious that Kangana Ranaut truly is the unstoppable, undisputed queen of Bollywood. More power to her!
