A 62-year-old man was killed after his two-wheeler was hit by the car that Congress Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia was travelling in Alappuzha, Kerala, on August 10.
The minister escaped unhurt.

The incident happened on National Highway Number 66, at Pattanakadu, when the minister was travelling from kochi to Alappuzha to attend an awards distribution ceremony.
The deceased was a native of Pattanakadu, and has been identified as Sasidharan. He was rushed to the KVM Hsopital in Cherthala, after being hit by the car.
The Pattanakad police have registered a case. More details are awaited. Jyotiraditya Scindia himself has yet to give a statement in this regard.
There is no official statement or confirmation has come from any Congress leader as well.
The incident is the recent one in a string of accidents involving VIPS that have happened in the past few months. In March, Textile Minister Smriti Irani’s convoy was involved in an accident that left one dead and two injured near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
Last year, a car in which BJP MP and actress Hema Malini was travelling in collided into another car near Dausa in Rajasthan, leaving a four-year-old girl dead and six persons injured.
