A senior journalist Rajdev Ranjan was shot dead in Bihar on May 13 evening. According to reports, two shots were fired at him at extremely close range near Siwan’s railway station.
One bullet hit his head while the other hit his chest. Bihar Police says the motive for the killing is unclear, and that he had no personal enmity with anyone.
Ranjan had 20 years of experience and was the bureau chief of the Hindi daily Hindustan. He was dead by the time he was taken to the hospital.

A day before, a 35-year-old journalist, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, was shot dead in In Jharkhand’s Chatra district. He worked for a local news channel.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das condemned the incident and asked Director General of Police DK Pandey to arrest the attackers at the earliest.
