Indian television actor Iqbal Khan protested against the use of splinters on protesters in Kashmir and compared the valley situation to that Palestine.
Kashmir has been in the rage after killing of Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani. In over a week long cycle of protest, at least 40 protesters and two policemen died in Kashmir. The actor, who was recently seen in Waaris, wrote in a Facebook post:
In an earlier post, he also accused the government of being biased towards Kashmir. He said, “Every state is like India’s baby, then why kill this baby?”
However, many people got offended by his posts.
Later, he requested people to not misunderstand his statement and clarified that he stands for humanity
At present, mobile phone services including the internet have been snapped across Kashmir. ll schools, colleges and universities have been closed till 24 July. The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed for over a week which has caused shortage of essential items in the Valley.
