Indian Railways Launches ‘Auto Express’ To Speed Up Automobile Deliveries In India

Targeting 25 per cent share in the automobile freight traffic, the Indian Railways has now launched the time-tabled Cargo Express – Auto Express.


This new train is set to ferry cargo from Gurgaon, Haryana to Nidvanda, Karnataka and promises speedy and timely deliveries of automobiles.

Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu announced this and said:



This new train was flagged off on July 12, with the hope that it will help increase automobile industry’s confidence on the reliability of the Indian Railways.

At present almost 2000 cars are transported between Gurgaon and Nidavanda every month and with this new launch the volume is expected to go up to nearly 6000 cars a month.
