Two Indian nationals, Mangipudi Sai Srinivas and Anish Sharma, have been kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram militants in Gboko, a town in the Benue state of north-central Nigeria.

The family of Sai Srinivas, who hails from Visakhapatnam, has approached the district collector N Yuvaraj seeking help for their release.
The duo were travelling to Dangote Cement Plc Plant in a car from on June 29 when a group of armed men kidnapped them at a traffic signal.
According to Srinivas’s wife M Lalitha, he is a civil engineer and prior to Dangote Cement, he was working with Aditya Birla group in Raipur.

Collector N Yuvaraj said that Nigerian authorities had launched a search operation, and the district administration had contacted the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian embassy in Nigeria about the development.
