Is India – China’s Joint Movie Venture ‘Xuanzang’ Going To Get Them Their Next Oscar?

Actor Sonu Sood might not have made much impact in Bollywood movies so far, but his international venture ‘Xuanzang’ has made huge waves in the Chinese film industry.

‘Xuanzang’ is a Chinese historical-adventure film in which Sood is a co-star and also has other Indian actors, Neha Sharma and Ali Fazal, as part of his movie’s cast.

Further, the movie, which has been directed by Chinese director Huo Jianqi, is now China’s official entry for the 89th Academy Awards, which would be held in January or February next year.

 

‘Xuanzang’ is not the only Chinese movie that Sood has worked in. He is currently also working on another Chinese movie called ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ in which he has legendary Jackie Chan has his co-star and as the lead role.

 

The 43-year-old actor made his debut in the Chinese film industry in 2015 with movie ‘Xuanzang’. He plays the role of a character named ‘Harsha’ in the movie.

The two movies are part of the of the three-film agreement that was signed between India and China in 2015.
