HP War Veterans Want Militant Masood’s Head In Return Of Indo-Pak Cricket Tie In Dharamshala

The controversy surrounding World T20 World Cup Indo-Pak match, which is to be held on March 19, 2016, seems to be growing stronger by the day.

Indian Ex-Servicemen League’s state president Major Vijay Singh Mankotia has said that BCCI can host the match at Dharamshala, only if they first bring the head of Pakistani militant Masood Azhar to India.

The state’s chief minister Virbhadra Singh has already refused to host the match in his state and has written to the Union home ministry that it would be best to shift the match to another venue.

The majority of the tickets for this match has already been pre-sold.

This has resulted in a tussle between Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and the state. HPCA has already said the match would not be shifted.

A meeting is likely to be held during the weekend where Congress MLAs and BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur will meet, and talk to find a solution. Once the solution has been agreed upon, they will talk to families of soldiers killed.

Bilateral cricket ties between the two nation has already been called of till the situation improves, but the T20 World Cup fixtures were decided by ICC a year back and thus it cannot be cancelled now.
