BMW chief executive officer Harald Krueger collapsed during a press conference at the Frankfurt Motor Show on Tuesday. It was his first major appearance as the company’s CEO.
He was 5 minutes into his press conference when he unsteadily walked backwards and fainted. Two staff members helped him to his feet and guided him out of the conference hall.
BMW representatives later reported that the CEO wasn’t feeling well before the event, as he had just returned from an international trip and complained of dizziness.
They further added that he was examined by the doctor and is recovering well.
This year’s IAA motor show in Frankfurt opens for visitors on Thursday, and will run till September 27. Here is a quick video of the conference:
