After repeated spells of rain in Gurgaon, the city was left in knee-deep water with thousands of commuters getting stranded on National Highway-8.
The situation was so bad on July 29 morning, that Gurgaon Police said that traffic snags will not clear out before noon.
To avoid further chaos, the Gurgaon Police even issued an advisory on Twitter asking people coming to Gurgaon to stay back.
Looking at the situation, Haryana government too declared a two-day holiday in Gurgaon schools.
Besides morning office commuters, there were also many trucks that were stuck on NH 8 as the highway also serves as the main carriageway from Delhi to Jaipur.
The situation was worse at Gurgaon’s central Hero Honda Chowk which was submerged under several feets of water that got collected due to heavy evening downpour on July 28.
The late evening downpour had also left many commuters stranded till well past midnight, with many even being forced to abandon their cars due to waterlogging.
