On Wednesday evening, non-Kashmiri students were able to present their demands and express their fears before a two-member HRD team last evening. The CRPF is still inside the campus because of which the non-Kashmiri students are feeling somewhat safer. The atmosphere at NIT-Srinagar is still not conducive.
“Yesterday, a group of Kashmiri students walked up to me and said: ‘Ek ke saath rape hoga to sab thande pad jaoge’ (If one of you gets raped, the rest will fall silent).”
The girl, whose name was withheld, told India Today that girls escaped getting beaten by the J&K Police because they were not present with the boys during the agitation.
“Why did the police and the college administration treat us like animals?” she asked.

Yesterday, the students demanded the shifting of the NIT-Srinagar from the current location. They said that they are afraid of the NIT administration which is siding with the Kashmiris and those who raised anti-India slogans.
Sources had told TY News on Wednesday that the students who are reportedly trying to leave the campus are actually only making attempts to speak to the media. They said that students were afraid of a backlash from the locals based on “biased and planned interviews” against them.
