Fee Charged By Harish Salve To Represent India In The UN Court Is Unbelievable

India and Pakistan are standing with their hands onto each others’ throats again. This time India has challenged Kulbhushan Jadhav’s death sentence by Pakistan. One of the world’s most expensive lawyers, Harish Salve has been appointed to represent our country at the International Court of Justice

Kulbhushan Jadhav is a former Indian Naval officer who went on a routine business trip to Iran. He was abducted by Pakistani intelligence which declared him a member of RAW spying on them. India is contesting against the death sentence given to Jadhav at UN court in Netherlands.

Harish Salve, 61, is believed to be an authority on constitutional law. He is known for fighting many high-profile cases, and now he will be fighting for Indian against Pakistan.

One of the Twitter users criticized the move to which External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj replied, revealing the fee Salve is charging for this case.

 

Harish Salve is nothing less than a super lawyer as he has fought many high-profile cases for celebrities, corporate tycoons, etc. Here is all you need to know about the man who might save the life an Indian citizen trapped in Pakistan.

He is a former a former Solicitor General of India and comes from an affluent family. His father was a Congress politician and his grandfather was a successful criminal lawyer.

He defended Salman Khan in the infamous hit and run case. As Salman Khan was found guilty, Salve came to the rescue and got an interim bail just hours after the verdict.


Salve has fought cases for corporate giants such as Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani (Krishna- Godavari Basin gas dispute), Keshub Mahindra (Bhopal Gas Tragedy), and Vodafone.

Delhi Police became one of his clients after its midnight crackdown on Baba Ramdev in Delhi in June 2011.

Harish Salve was listed as the 18th most powerful personality in the country by India Today in 2009.

He has been a favorite among politicians as he defended Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati, Prakash Sigh Badal, etc.

Reportedly, Salve charges an unbelievable Rs.30 lakh per day. He was paid Rs.15 crore by Mukesh Ambani after the case closed.
His move to charge such a nominal fee is commendable which equals to serving the nation. With such a talented lawyer on our side, we are sure that justice will be served.
