Elephants are so gentle and love humans so much that they can even jump in fiery rapids to save a drowning man. Yes, this is what was seen in Thailand in an experiment highlighting the bond between a man and the pachyderm. Kham Lha is a young elephant who saw a man – volunteer Darrick Thomson – shouting for help apparently trapped in the current of the river. Without losing a moment Kham Lha wades into the river and steadily approaches Thomson, as the latter slowly swims to a nearby bank. But Kham Lha reaches him and being a gentle beast supports Thomson with his trunk.
