Delhi Metro Officials Accused Of Beating Passenger

Delhi Metro, which is considered to be the lifeline of the National Capital Region, has come under the scanner for all the wrong reasons.

Just few weeks after a young man shot himself at the metro premise, the transport facility is once again in the news with some officials being caught on camera for beating a passenger up.

The incident happened on November 4, during the rush hour, and was captured by a passenger on his mobile. The video was later uploaded on YouTube by an author name Namit Khanna.

According to the person who uploaded the video, the incident occurred at the Laxmi Nagar Metro station.

The man had gotten into an argument with a metro official. Irked by the passenger’s misbehaviour, the official had reportedly started beating him.

The situation got out of hand as other officials joined their co-worker in beating the passenger up.

Within few minutes nearly a dozens of people gathered and police had to be called in.

While further details on exactly what happened is still not clear, Namit on his video description wrote:

“At 9:05 AM, the ACP of Yamuna Bank Police, Sandeep Sagar reached the spot and sorted things out while promising that the matter will be looked after.”
