Deepika Padukone Auditioned For A Role In A Tom Cruise Film But Didn’t Nail The Part

We know our Hindi cinema actors and actresses dream of going the Hollywood way. Many have tried their luck in the West with limited to no success (remember all those rumors about Aishwarya Rai being a Bond Girl every time a Bond movie rolled around?). However, a few have recently been making some waves abroad, namely Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

Deepika has been keeping her fans updated about her work in the movie ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’, where she stars opposite Vin Diesel and the media has been loving it.

While it may look like her success graph is on an upward slant, the actress faced rejection recently. The Indian actress has auditioned for the role of an Asian princess in the next installment of ‘The Mummy’ movie franchise. Fans were waiting to hear the news of the actress appearing opposite Tom Cruise in the role.

While the role wasn’t very “meaty”, Deepika was reportedly keen on working with the Hollywood heartthrob. However, she was not selected for the role. Neither was Huma Qureshi, who had also auditioned for the part.
