As a Bollywood writer, my life has revolved around writing about Deepika Padukone and her infectious beau Ranveer Singh. So what? I have no complaints and in fact, I immensely love my job. They are magic together because individually, they shine as well. Being an ardent follower of Deepika, everything little crazy, meaningful and fun thing she does gives me a high and keeps me peppy. We all are aware of her blessed body but to keep yourself fit, healthy, athletic and be graceful EVERY SINGLE TIME
is no cake walk. Deepy always had this passionate inclination towards sports and even valued and discussed the lessons that sports taught her on various social platforms. But this time, she has raised the bar. TOO HIGH.
Recently, she did a high-octane video with Nike where she encouraged people, especially women, to push their limits, honor their body and embrace themselves.
Along with her video, she also shared how sports changed her life and how they can make a difference in everyone’s life both physically and mentally:
- When I was growing up my father said to me, to be the best, always remember the three D’s – Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Follow your heart.
- Do what you are passionate about. Sport has taught me how to handle failure. It has also taught me how to handle success.
- It has kept me grounded. It has taught me humility. Two years ago I struggled with depression. I was sinking. I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up!
- I want to say to every girl and every boy and every woman and every man…play a sport…because it changed my life…and it will change yours too. Sport has taught me how to survive! It has taught me how to fight! It has made me unstoppable!
