At Least 30 Dead After Cloudbrust In Uttarakhand; Many Feared Injured And Trapped

At least 30 people died after a cloudburst and heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand.

Many people are feared to be injured and trapped in Pithoragarh. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that NDRF teams have been dispatched to rescue them.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat announced a compensation of 2 lakh rupees for the kin of the deceased.

Water levels continue to rise in areas including Chamoli and Nandaprayag town.

The meteorological department has issued a warning in a number of regions in Uttarakhand, including in Nainital, Udhamsingh Nagar and Champawat, for the next three days.
