A transporter in Darbhanga is offering free bus service from the city to Patna. The reason? He simply wants to help the people following the demonetisation drive launched by the Centre.
According to local reports, owner of Trimurti Travels Murari Mohan Jha launched the free bus service on the route till the time the currency flow in the country becomes normal again.
Long queues at the banks have become a common sight since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the scrapping of currency notes of denomination of Rs.500 and Rs.1000.
Since the announcement was sudden, banks were unprepared to meet with the rush of deposits, withdrawals and exchanges. But the government is working on a war footing to ensure that new currencies of Rs.500 and Rs.2000 reach the banks to ensure cash flow.
Jha believes that his free service will help those short of cash travel the 150-km distance. He plans to continue the service till the money flow becomes normal.
Meanwhile, those availing of this free service are, expectedly, all praise of the transporter. And they also think that the PM’s move will get rid of black money from the market.
