This gorilla, who lives in an award-winning 4 acre gorilla sanctuary in the Louisville Zoo, was shown photographs of other gorillas by a young man. The gorilla was actually interested in the photos, and even gestured when he wanted the man to scroll to the next one. This incident brings to light once again that animals are much smarter than we give them credit for. And also that that they are way more interested in their kind than people are in each other. I'd only be running away at super speed if some random stranger started showing me his photos.
The gorilla's name is Jelani. He is a Western Lowland Gorilla, a species classified as "critically endangered" by the I.U.C.N.
