With pollution levels soaring in Delhi NCR and air quality deteriorating at an alarming rate, it was more than apt for Delhi CM team to take the initiative and launch ‘Cuemath Green Drive’ as a Children’s Day activity. It was aimed at making the younger generation socially responsible by initiating them to play an active role in creating a cleaner, greener and less polluted Delhi and thereby save Mother Earth from the assault by air pollutants.
The Delhi Cuemath Teacher Partners (CTPs) were all agog to be instruments of change to Delhi environment by gently coaxing their young students and calling upon their friends to help in being part of ‘Cuemath Green Drive’.
Almost all parts of Delhi saw tree plantation drives and gifting of small potted plants to children. CTPs joined hands with the younger generation, RWAs and parents of their areas to make this green drive a success.
The children were made aware of potted plants like spider plant, aloe vera, and ficus which act as great air purifiers and are easy to grow and propagate.
Some CTPs used their ingenuity and involved children to bring a smile on the faces of the small shopkeepers of their area by gifting them these potted plants, involving the gardeners to teach the young ones ways of propagating plants all by themselves and including vibrant mathematical games to this celebration with a difference.
It brought cheer and sense of pride to children, brightened many a heart yet held a beautiful promise of a cleaner and greener Delhi.
