21 Celebs Who Have Rocked Comic Con Indian Edition

It’s the sixth edition of Comic Convention India in December. And before we brace ourselves for another amazing time, lets have a look at the previous years’ celeb line-up.

 1 . Mark Millar

New York’s best selling writer, Mark Millar has incredible titles to his credit – ‘Wanted’, the Kick-Ass series, ‘The Secret Service’, ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’, ‘Nemesis’, ‘Superior’, ‘Super Crooks’, ‘Ultimate Fantastic Four’ and ‘American Jesus’.


The Kick-Ass series has been adapted for two movies.



2. Greg Capullo

An American comic book artist, Greg is a self-taught illustrator and the current artist on the best-selling and highly acclaimed Batman series for DC Comics. He is also known for his work on ‘Quasar’, ‘X-Force’, ‘Angela’ and ‘Spawn’.


Batman is known as one of the 20 All Time Coolest Heroes in Pop Culture.


 3. Jason Latour

Comic book artist and writer, Jason is noted for his work for Image, Dark Horse, Marvel and DC comics on titles such as ‘Scalped’, ‘Wolverine‘, ‘B.P.R.D’, ‘Winter Soldier‘ and ‘Django Unchained‘.


He is the man behind Wolverine’s face!



4 . Pran Kumar Sharma

The late Pran is the creator of our childhood best friends – Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu, Billoo, and Pinky.


Pran has been called the ‘Walt Disney of India’ in The World Encyclopaedia of Comics. The Chacha Chaudhary strips find permanent place in International Museum of Cartoon Art, USA.


5. R.K. Laxman

The TOI’s Common Man, R.K. Laxman is known for his daily strip, “You Said It”.


Interestingly, after his first stint at The Free Press Journal in Mumbai, he joined Times Of India where he created The Common Man. This was the first and the last change of his career; he spent a whopping fifty years at TOI!

6.  Daniel Portman

The actor Daniel Portman is known for his character Podrick Payne in HBO’s Game Of Thrones.


7. Ron Marz

Ron Marz is an American comic book writer who is well known for his writings for Silver Surfer and Green Lantern. He also did a crossover of DC v/s Marvel as well as Batman V/s Aliens.


8. Nathan Edmondson

Nathan is an American writer best known for Image Comic’s espionage comic series ‘Who Is Jake Ellis?’


It has now been adapted as a feature film by 20th century Fox.



9. Matt Melvin

You’d know him if you’ve read ‘Cyanide and Happiness’. ‘The Last Nerds’ is also to his credit.


However, Matt Melvin is no more a part of ‘Cyanide and Happiness’! Sad, No?

10. Miya Tomoko & Moe Tsurumi

They are professional Japanese Costume play artistes (Cosplayers) who pretty much aced the game at Comic Con 2015 in Hyderabad.



11. Mark Gattis

An actor and co-creator, Gatiss is the Executive Producer of BBC’s amazing hit-series ‘Sherlock’.


The ‘Sherlock’ which got our hearts racing!


12. Nick Spencer

A New York Times best selling comics writer, Nick is known for his creator-owned hits ‘Morning Glories’, ‘Bedlam’, and ‘The Infinite Vacation’.

He also has done incredible work at Marvel and DC Comics on ‘Superior Foes Of Spider-Man’, ‘Avengers World’, ‘Secret Avengers’, ‘Cloak & Dagger’, ‘Thunder Agents’, and ‘Jimmy Olsen’ to his credit.



13. Mark Waid

An Eisner Award-winning American comic book writer, Mark Waid is known for his work on Marvel Comics’ ‘Captain America’.


When Superman decided to rein in the new generation of heroes hoping that they would reform and make this world a better place while they stop catering to their own egos, ‘Kingdom Come’ happened.


14. David Lloyd

A British comics artist, David Lloyd is best known as the illustrator of the story ‘V for Vendetta’.


The protesters  at a protest against Scientology in London in 2008 were seen wearing Guy Fawkes masks inspired from V For Vendetta. Apparently, TIME called it the largest selling masks ever in the history!


15. Gabriel Bá

He is a Brazilian comic book artist who is famous for his illustration work on ‘The Umbrella Academy’ and ‘Casanova’.


‘The Umbrella Academy’ has inspired an upcoming television series too!


16. Fábio Moon

A Brazilian comic book artist best known for his work on Casanova.


He co-created Casanova character with Gabriel Ba!


17. John Steele Layman

He is an American comic book writer known for his epic work in ‘Chew’.



Chew is now a very successful TV series too.


18. Natalia Tena

An actor, Natalie Tena is known for her characters in ‘Game Of Thrones’ and ‘Harry Potter’.

19. Dan Parent

An American comic book artist and writer best known for his work for Archies Comics.


No matter how old we grow, we will forever be hooked to Archie, Betty and Veronica!

20. Mohammad Faisal

The creator of the insanely popular comic strip, ‘Garbage Bin’, Mohammad also recorded his presence.


Garbage Bin brings a sense of nostalgia for anyone who’s grown in the 90’s.

21.  Aayushman Khurana

A VJ-turned actor and singer, Aayushman Khurana is known for his various comedy stints and his hit movie ‘Vicky Donor’.



22. Baahubali cast

‘Baahubali’ movie stars Rana Daggubati and Tamanna were present at last year’s Comic Con held at Bengaluru.
