A day before the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced their next Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh, UP Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar issued a circular that directed all government employees to be punctual from March 20, or be ready to face the consequences.

Bhatnagar, who issued the circular on March 17, asked all government employees to be present in the office on all working days from March 20 and said that those who fail to comply will face action.

The circular also asked all the employees to finish their work on time and said that with the coming of the new government, all policies and resolutions have to be fulfilled on time.

“The formation of the new government in Uttar Pradesh is happening soon. The government policies and resolutions have to be fulfilled on time.”

The circular was issued soon after UP Governor Ram Naik announced on March 17 that the new Cabinet will take oath on March 19 at 2.15 pm.

The BJP had a landslide victory in UP this month when they secured 312 seats in the 2017 assembly polls.

The victory not only ensured that BJP would be back in power after a wait of 15 years, but also that they are now the single largest party in UP legislative.

While UP’s new CM would be announced on March 18 evening, the oath-taking ceremony will take place on March 19, at Lucknow’s Smriti Upvan.
