A beautiful gesture of a 10 year-old Chennai boy came to light when he decided to donate a thousand rupees for the Clean Ganga Project.
Cleaning the holy river Ganga has been the agenda of the Modi Government. To make the dream come true the government started ‘The Namami Gange Project’ worth Rs 20,000 crore to improve the condition of the holy river.
G Shashank, a class 5 student of DAV school, won prize money of a thousand rupees and decided to put that sum to good use.
In his letter to PM Modi he mentioned that he is sending the money to the National Relief Fund because he is keen on doing national work.

While giving the details about the Sanskrit competition that he won, he wrote that,
…river Ganga is the religious river of the country and we should maintain it.
He also invited the PM to his place in Chennai. This amazing gesture of G Shashank got a prompt response from the PMO. They not only appreciated it but also called it a ‘thoughtful gesture’.
Wonderful gesture, G Shashank! Kudos to your efforts.
