Commenting on debate surrounding Pakistani cricketer Mohammed Amir’s reintegration into international cricket, former cricketer Ian Chappell has said Amir should have never been allowed back. The issue, also seem to has divided the sports fraternity, as many players like Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Swann feel Amir does not deserve a second chance; while others like Sachin Tendulkar and Alastair Cook insist that Amir is entitled to a shot at redemption, as he has served his ban as well as jail-term .

Amir, on the other hand is now on the cusp of making a comeback, with Pakistan soon to tour England for a test series.
Ian Chappell, meanwhile is voicing his disagreement over Amir’s return and said “cricket has been too soft on corrupt players”.
Chappell also suggested that Cricket should follow hard steps like baseball did to eradicate fixing.
Amir was banned from international cricket back in 2010, when he along with few other Pakistani players were caught in a spot-fixing scandal and were later convicted of taking bribes.
