In August the Centre received a total of 1,00,903 grievances and of these 93,379 — or 93 per cent — were resolved, Singh said.

Singh said people are now showing faith in the redressal mechanism of the central government which is the main reason behind rise in the number of grievances received in the last two years.

As per official data, a total of 8,81,132 public grievances were received last year as against 2,70,255 in 2014. During 2012, a total of 1,76,126 such grievances were received as against 2,09,637 in 2013.

Various departments working under the Centre have been asked to resolve public grievances within a maximum of two months time.
