Priyanka Chopra’s entry in Hollywood promised fresh and different cinema to us. Yes, we watch a lot of Hollywood movies but seeing an Indian beauty taking over the world is a different feeling altogether. However, seems like the CBFC is inclined towards altering these feelings a little. Reminiscent of the ‘Baywatch’ TV series, Priyanka’s Hollywood debut film ‘Baywatch’ has been one of the most awaited movies.
As usual, the Central Board of Film Certification is trying to give PeeCee’s ‘Baywatch’ a sanskari touch. Only this time, the masters of snipping are confused about what to do with the bikini scenes in the movie. A source close to censor board informed DNA,
It is a duvidha, a dharm sankat that beats all recent dilemmas. How do we grade the bikini festival in Baywatch? Guidelines clearly indicate that unnecessary nudity must be curbed. A lot of the Baywatch fans are under-age kids. In our films, a big deal is made of bikini shots. Blame the producers for making the bikini look like a phenomenal happening.

The board is in a dilemma regarding the technicalities of snipping out the scenes as a bikini is beach paraphernalia and therefore, cutting it out makes no sense. The same source also quoted,
“We can’t curb nudity when it is projected on the beach side. We would object if girls in bikinis were shown in a discotheque or in a dining room. But how do we curtail the skin exposure when the entire film is by the beach side?”
When Priyanka was asked about her views on the matter she said that she is “not worried” as it is a “comedy movie”. Indeed, in this farcical situation, the movie has successfully been able to put the CFBC in a grave dilemma, or is the board really giving the whole snipping-business some serious thought for the first time?
