What the hell is happening in New Delhi? Has everyone behind the wheel gone blind? In April, a Mercedes driven by minors fatally hit Siddharth Sharma and ended the life of the 32-year-old man.
Here is almost a similar case, this time from Madhu Vihar locality of the city.
The Santro snakes through cars and people on a street, slides past a man, and hits a minor girl.
As you can see, the impact was quite a severe one as the girl’s head hits the bonnet with force.
Thankfully, the girl has escaped unhurt. She told ANI that she was returning from tuition classes and that the driver was probably drunk and did not have a license.
On the night of April 4, Siddharth Sharma was hit by a Mercedes speeding in at over 100 km/hr. His body flew into the air on impact – a CCTV footage of the same revealed the shocking moment of the incident.
Siddharth Sharma was just 32 when a speeding Mercedes driven by an underage driver killed him.
Following a public outcry, the police nabbed the main accused – a then minor boy – and charged him with culpable homicide
. But it appears that Delhi’s roads are still unsafe because of the drivers. Vessels of callousness and disregard for the law are running in their blood. But they should not be blamed because it is corruption that has given them this malice.
That the guy who hit the minor girl ambles towards her despite what he has done is proof of how our system has emboldened law breakers.
The pedestrians will, therefore, have to walk carefully even on the pavements.
