Team India’s Test Captain on October 11 was all praises for his team and said that he was proud of them especially the bowlers.

He said that the team defied every force that worked against them and worked together even in conditions that were not in their favour.

Kohli said that the Indian bowlers performed exceptionally well even in the anti-spin condition of the pitches and mentioning bowlers like R Ashwin said that they are capable of winning matches even if the surfaces of the pitch worked against them.

Kohli took one every critic that questioned India’s performance and said that they knew how pitches would act in advance looking at India’s weather conditions.

“We knew before the series that people will start talking about pitches. We knew pitches will not be dry as monsoon is everywhere and especially in Kolkata, which is a newly-laid wicket. We knew our abilities and we knew we should be good enough to do well on any surface and against any team.”

He then went on to praise his spinners and said that they were not too much dependent on the Spin-friendly pitches.

Kohli further added that the last two games were a delight to them as they had judged the conditions well in advance and that is why the team was able to finish these two matches in just four days.

During the Test series Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh had sent out tweets accusing that the pitches were “tailor-made” for spin conditions.
