A viral and shocking video has emerged showing two Kendriya Vidyalaya students in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, punching and kicking their schoolmate, who can be seen screaming for help.
The students then went on to use their belts and shoes to assault the kid.
Police have identified the brothers as Vishal alias Tanmay Singh and Vikki, studying in the 12th and 11th grades of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Muzaffarpur.
The two rowdy brothers are sons of notorious gangster Shashi Bhushan alias ‘Fauji’ – serving time at Muzaffarpur Central Jail.
The assaulted kid has been identified as 12th grader Uttam Kumar, a resident of nearby Ramdayalu Nagar. Kumar was assaulted allegedly because he had complained to the school authorities against two brothers.
The school is located at Gannipur in the heart of the district headquarters town, around 80km north of Patna. The SHO of Kazi Muhammadpur police station, Mithilesh Kumar Jha, said an FIR had been lodged against the two students who are reported to be related to an absconding criminal.
While narrating his ordeal, the assaulted student broke down in front of police. He has stopped attending class since the incident.
The assaulted boy said he had been thrashed twice earlier. “I had verbally complained to the school authorities but nothing happened,” he said.
The MoS for Human Resources Development Upendra Kushwaha asked authorities to probe the matter and submit their report.
Meanwhile, the Janta Dal(United) raised questions asking why was the incident which took place on August 25 covered up for more than one and half months. The JDU(U) members also asked why no action was taken against the guilty students and the principal who tried to bury the matter.
JD(U) spokesperson Ajay Alok said that since Kendriya Vidyalayas come directly under the Union HRD Ministry, the onus lied on the Centre to take action.
