The minor girl, who along with her mother was gang-raped at Bulandshahr last month has moved the Supreme Court, seeking FIR against Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan and those police officers who did not pay attention to her family’s complaints initially.
Khan, at that time, had alleged that the gang-rape was a political conspiracy to malign the UP government and had asked for its authenticity to be investigated.
Following his insensitive comments, he had received loads of criticism from the opposition, women’s groups, as well as the victim family.
Looking at UP’s insensitivity towards the crime, the victim is now seeking court-monitored investigation and has even asked for the case to be transferred to Delhi.

On July 29, a 34-year-old mother and her teenage daughter were raped on NH-91 in Bulandshahr while they were returning home to Noida from Shahjahanpur in western UP.
