Just days after news about Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BNSL) offering 20GB of 3G data for just Rs 50 spread like wildfire on social media, the state-owned telecom operators have come forward and denied offering any such scheme.
On April 22, news about BSNL having launched a scheme under PM Modi’s ‘Digital India’ movement had started doing rounds.
The reports at that time had said that BNSL will now offer 20GB of 3G data for just Rs 50 and will also allow it to be shared among 5 friends with the other four using the data for free.
Even as such reports started making rounds
of social media, an official in BSNL squashed
the reports and termed the news to be faux.
He went on to point out that neither had BSNL ‘officially declared any offer like 20GB 3G data for Rs 50’ nor are they planning to do so any time in the near future.
