Border Security Force (BSF) has decided to replace their routine physical training drills (PT Drills) with yoga for its officers and jawans.
BSF is India’s largest border guarding force with over 2.5 lakh personnel.
The decision to replace their daily 45-minute PT routine with yoga was taken by BSF Director General K K Sharma.
The decision was taken after 1,900 BSF personnel completed a special training session under Baba Ramdev at his Patanjali Yoga Institute in Haridwar.
Soon after the session DG Sharma said:
He also added that a committee of senior officers will soon decide if any other physical exercise, apart from yoga, is required to be included in the daily regime.
DG Sharma had recently said that the paramilitary force has decided to “intensify” yoga training sessions of their troops.
Keeping this in mind they now aim to have at least one yoga trainer in each platoon-level formation.
