He said the majority of people in Kashmir wanted peace and harmony and were against violence. A handful of terrorists have scared the majority there, Singh said.

Since July 8, Kashmir is on edge after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani and two other militants in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Kokernag area. The incident triggered widespread protests across the Valley, leading to a curfew and restrictions in many parts of the state.
Security forces have to deal with violent protesters through strictness which led to to over 50 people getting killed and over 5,000 injured.
