BJP MP R K Singh Says Centre’s Kashmir Strategy Is Wrong, Wants Separatists Be Dealt With Sternly

BJP Lok Sabha MP and former Union Home Secretary R K Singh has hit out at Centre over its handling of the Kashmir issue.

Singh termed Centre’s Kashmir strategy as “totally wrong” and demanded that the terrorists and separatists be dealt with sternly.

“The current Kashmir strategy of the government is totally wrong… Its handling of separatists and some terrorists is not correct. It is wrong,” the MP from Arrah in Bihar said during Zero Hour.

He said the majority of people in Kashmir wanted peace and harmony and were against violence. A handful of terrorists have scared the majority there, Singh said.

According to Singh, steps should be taken to curb the flow of hawala money and separatists should also be prosecuted. In addition, the demanded that border should be fenced to stop infiltration.


Earlier, he said that India should hit back at Pakistan since there is enough evidence to show the neighbouring country’s involvement in sponsoring terrorism in this country and the government should not talk to Islamabad.

Since July 8, Kashmir is on edge after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani and two other militants in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Kokernag area. The incident triggered widespread protests across the Valley, leading to a curfew and restrictions in many parts of the state.

Security forces have to deal with violent protesters through strictness which led to to over 50 people getting killed and over 5,000 injured.
