For the first time, country’s state board will link students’ examination forms with their Aadhaar numbers. The step is taken by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) to avoid duplication.
“While submitting examination forms, students will have to specify whether or not they have Aadhaar numbers. Those who do, will have to mention it on their forms. Students who do not have Aadhaar cards are requested to apply for the same so that they can also benefit from the move,” BSEB chairman Anand Kishor told TOI.
The initiative will be implemented for BSEB’s compartmental exams, which are scheduled for November
The decision was taken after Kishor had a talk with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) DG Ajay Bhushan Pandey.
Earlier, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board passed a government resolution which made Aadhaar card compulsory for Class 10 and 12 students appearing for their final exams.
